NHL5 is the hardest and fastest setting of all the NHL Limes and known as ‘Eminently Hydraulic’ Lime
Harder and faster setting than NHL3.5
Often used in the production of Limecrete floor slabs and for building in more exposed locations. Suitable for re-pointing only very hard stone such as granite, in very exposed locations where endurance and weather resistance are more important than breathability, used ‘above the parapets’ for verge ends, chimney pointing / flaunching and used externally for paving.
Ideal where the benefits of Lime are still required but where strength and longevity are more of a priority than flexibility and breathability.
**The golden rule applies whereby the mortar should always be softer than the substrate**.
