Tanners Cottage, West Sussex. Grade 2 Listed. Conservation Area. 16th Century

Cheshire Lime Ltd were asked to make brickwork repairs, stabilise superficial cracking and render one aspect with a Traditional hot-mixed Lime Render

The oldest part of this property was built in the 16th Century. It previously existed as three co-joined but separate houses until they were knocked into one during the 1800’s.

A cementitious render had been applied at some point which was now badly cracked and letting in rainwater creating some damp issues.

By agreement with the Conservation Officer, the current owners removed this render exposing necessary brickwork and non-structural crack stitching repairs. Lime mortar pointing was used to finish the wall prior to rendering.

A traditional hot-mixed non-Hydraulic render was applied in 2 coats
