Horse Hair is the traditional fibre added to Lime Plasters and Mortars to reduce cracking and provide reinforcement
Supplied in increments of 100g
Our Horse Hair is already washed and chopped ready for convenient use
We suggest at least 50g Horse Hair per 25kg of Lime Plaster for Lath work or 25g for a haired lime mortar / scratch coat
We only use hair from the body of the horses as it better binds the lime mortar / plaster than either the mane or tail.

Our Horse Hair is 100% UK origin. We ONLY source from local stables which we know personally to care for the animals welfare.
Please be aware that most of those neatly tied ‘bundles’ of hair seen on the market are imported from places like China which have an appalling track record of animal welfare. We are simply trying to maintain a reasonably guilt-free conscience.
As such, stock levels of this particular product can fluctuate and colours will vary
