Delivery

Ordering & Delivery

Orders are submitted on a ‘Quote’ basis.

By manually assessing Your Quote it allows us to configure the best use of space on a pallet, for example.

This can significantly reduce the cost of Delivery versus an automated checkout system (which simply generates a price based on product weight and postcode but cannot ‘understand’ how best to load the items to save You money).

All orders are to be paid in full before delivery can be booked. The time of receipt of payment will be the deciding factor when calculating delivery options / times.

Single items for delivery from 1kg – 100kg in weight will usually be sent on APC UK Courier network (1-2 business days).

Orders are usually delivered on a Next Day basis on a van typically from 09.00AM – 16.00PM  (If the order is received by 12.00PM). However delivery within those times is not guaranteed and will be delivered as soon as possible in line with APC terms of carriage.

‘Same Day’  can be arranged on larger orders which make effective use of an 18ton vehicle with a tail-lift facility. We have negotiated extremely good rates using our local provider and this is almost always cheaper than sending the same goods on pallets via The Pallet Network.

All other orders  >101kg – 1000kg in weight will be sent using The Pallet Network.

‘Economy’ usually takes 2-3 working days.

‘Allocated Day’ can be any specified week day no sooner than two days after the delivery is booked.

‘Next Working Day’ is self explanatory but depends on what time the delivery is booked and what is being ordered.

The majority of pallet deliveries will be delivered between 09.00AM – 17.30PM. However delivery within those times is not guaranteed and will be delivered as soon as possible in line with The Pallet Network, RHA Terms of Carriage or others terms and conditions.

Pallets are typically delivered on a rigid 18-ton curtain-sided lorry with a (1000kg max) tail lift offload facility.

18 Ton Vehicle Dimensions: 4m (High), 11m (Long), 2.55m (Wide).

Smaller pallet deliveries under 750kg in weight can also be delivered on a rigid 7.5 ton curtain-sided lorry with a (750kg max) tail lift offload facility.

YOU MUST request a 7.5t vehicle in the comments section when placing an order if your property is not accessible to larger vehicles.

!!Please note that the maximum weight of a pallet would have to be 750kg if using the tail lift offload!!

7.5 Ton Vehicle Dimensions: 3.5m (High), 7.8m (Long), 2.55m (Wide).

All delivery options are kerbside delivery only unless You have Your own fork-lift or Telehandler on-site and suitable access / space for the lorry. A flat and level hard-standing is required to unload pallets (either concrete or tarmac). The pallets are lowered to the ground by a hydraulic tail lift then moved with a manual or electric pump truck (pallet trolley). They can be moved into position, within reason and at the drivers discretion, onto your property or land provided it is on flat and level hard-standing. NB. Grass or soil verges or shingle drives are not suitable. If the driver is unable to remove the pallet from the tail-lift as the surface is unsuitable for the pump truck then, by agreement with the driver, it may become Your responsibility to remove the items by hand from the tail-lift and onto Your own property provided it does not cause any unnecessary delays or safety concerns to the driver. If this cannot be agreed upon then the driver may have no choice but to refuse to make delivery and it is Your responsibility as per the ‘important information’ section below.

Orders are processed and sent out on the basis that a delivery vehicle can access your property.  Customers are required to be in on the day of delivery from the hours of 09:00am – 17.30pm to accept delivery and sign for goods received.  If you are not able to be in to receive goods you may receive a call from the delivery driver or the delivery depot to request whether goods can be left in a safe place. Drivers may, but are not obliged, to wait up to 20 minutes on site for goods to be received and unloaded; This is documented on vehicle trackers.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If goods can’t be delivered or left due unsuitable access or if the driver chooses not to deliver the goods without a signature or verbal authorisation by the Customer (either directly or via Cheshire Lime Ltd) after the allotted waiting time then the Goods will be taken back to the local delivery depot (for a maximum of 5 business days) to await instruction on re delivery. Re-delivery will need to be booked in with the Customer and Supplier (Cheshire Lime Ltd) under a new delivery contract.

This will be subject to a re-delivery charge of the same amount as the original delivery charge plus any additionally charges as a direct result of failed delivery or storage where applicable.

If that is not acceptable to the Customer then goods will be sent back to the supplier (Cheshire Lime Ltd) and the re-delivery charge, plus any additional charges incurred, will be charged to the Customer and taken from the value of the Goods plus a 20% stock handling charge.  The remainder of the value of the order, once these costs have been deducted, will be credited back to the Customer. If the total of these costs is greater than the original value of the goods ordered then this amount will be invoiced to the customer and immediate payment shall be required.

The ability to either fulfil an order, or deliver within a certain time-frame, will depend on many variable e.g. stock levels, market availability, courier delays etc. We will always endeavour to do our best for You however we cannot be held responsible or liable for those things outside our control.

By placing and paying for an order and delivery You agree to these terms.

We would love to hear from You
