The owners of this 16th century timber framed ‘Hall’ house faced significant issues as a result of a major roof leaks in various parts of the house.
The insurance company appointed a main contractor who subsequently approached Cheshire Lime Ltd to provide the best solution for the Lime Plastering.
This arrangement ensured the Conservation Officer and Owners were satisfied by a high quality traditional finish and the main contractor benefitted from an efficient service.
A 3 coat hot-mixed Lime Plaster was applied to the necessary areas (after significant dubbing out) complimented by 4 coats of freshly hot-mixed Lime Wash.
Going forward, the original Wattle and Daub panels will undergo sympathetic restoration including the removal of poor modern paintwork, repair of the Daub surface and fresh hot-mixed Lime Wash.
