We can supply and install a Limecrete floor for Your project.
A Limecrete Floor consists of a suitable aggregate combined with NHL5 (Lime used as the binder instead of Cement) and laid onto a compacted layer of Recycled Foam Glass Aggregate (RFG). It is a Fully LABC approved system.
The RFG is made from recycled superheated Glass. The process creates a fully load-bearing aggregate which is similar to standard Hardcore in both appearance and structural use but with a number of additional benefits.
It resists capillary action, provides insulation and is extremely lightweight and is responsible for managing the moisture levels below the slab. It also recycles material rather than freshly quarrying stone.
Limecrete Floors can reduce the ‘digging out’ required versus other common flooring systems. Since there is a reduction in the number and depth of layers when re-instating the floor. This is especially useful where shallow foundations are involved.
RFG provides a capillary break helping to eliminate damp. The material has no capillary action and completely isolates the slab from any ground moisture. This eliminates the need for a DPM, isolates the slab and is acknowledged to prevent damp being forced to the perimeter walls.
RFG provides Insulation. Air bubbles trapped within each granule provide insulation for the floor and is compatible with UFH. Perimeter Insulation, often Cork, prevents cold bridging, allows for expansion and further isolates the slab from the walls.
